The following is from Pastor John Kimathi from Africa, who stayed here and attended Bethel Worship Center for a year while taking Christian counseling classes. Pastor John was a dear friend of Lloyd’s.

It is very heart-breaking for me and the church here to lose a friend and missionary who had preached to the brethren here in the year 2003. We all remember him for his humility, joviality, generosity, and love for the African people.

I will not forget his unswerving love and great sacrifices he and his wife made for me while I was in the U.S. When I was told about his hospitalization, I always imagined that I will go to the hospital to pray with him when I visit the US again.

Ever since I read this mail, I have been struggling with denial. Since I began to accept this message my heart has been heavy. The memories I have of that great friend will never fade. His great faith even in the face of many trials was inspiring to me.

My only consolation is that there is an eternal home for us where our Lord and Savior waits for us. He promised to wipe our tears away. He overcame death. Jesus said "I am He that is living and was dead. And behold I am alive for evermore and have the keys of death and hell."
