Our beloved Hazilee Reibel is a walking miracle - not only her words, but also those of everyone who heard of her automobile accident a few weeks ago.

On an extremely foggy, cold and dark morning, Hazilee left for work before five o’clock to head north on Highway 7 to her job. She was listening to praise music on the radio, and  slowed down to about 35 miles per hour when she neared the Washington County line because visibility was negligible. Just after she passed the Church of Christ, she felt a "bump." She didn't know what it was, but  felt as if God  laid  her down on the seat and she folded her arms across her chest. She felt the Jeep spinning and as it did, she was saying, “Oh God, Oh God, Oh God!”,  then it came to a stop. She looked around and saw there was no glass in the windows, her seat was down, she was wearing a seat belt and the dome light was on. The radio was playing the song “Everlasting God” and she heard the words, “Strength will rise as you wait upon the Lord.” Still not comprehending what had happened, she automatically reached for her purse on the floor. She came up with a handful of dirt and grass!

Realizing that her car had been hit, she wondered why the other driver hadn't come to check on her. Finally, he did, and asked her if she was alright. When she said she thought she was, he left her to go call his boss.  He hadn't admitted hitting her.

Soon help arrived, and because she couldn't get out of the car, a responder crawled in with her and held her head and hand the entire time as she was ministered to by squad, EMS workers and others who'd stopped. She had to be cut out of the car. Hazie kept praising the Lord for keeping her safe and unharmed. She was taken on a back board to the hospital where she was examined and released. She proclaimed to everyone who saw her that it was God who saved her.

Photographs of what remains of her Jeep show a mangled, glassless and disabled vehicle with the fender of a semi in the back seat! Passersby seeing the wreck thought the driver must surely have died in the accident.

Many things don't make "sense" to any of us. One, there would normally be a teeth-jarring impact. Two, it isn't possible to lie down in a Jeep - there is a rigid, large console between the seats. Three, her only injuries were three small bruises; and, there were no broken bones, concussion or internal injuries. Later, as messages came in by phone and Facebook, many said they'd driven by, praying for whoever was driving that car. Hazilee gives thanks first to her Lord, Who had spared her, and secondly to all who responded with prayers, calls and offers of help.  She is especially thankful to the volunteer responders to her accident. She said they were, in Hazie's word, "fantastic," and added, “if you know any responders, please let them know how grateful you are for them and let them know God has His hand on them always.”

A Walking Miracle!
A Testimony of God’s Amazing Protection

If you make the Most High your dwelling-- even the LORD, who is my refuge-- then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;  they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.  You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.  "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.  He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation." Psalm 91:9-16
